Below are some examples of Cal’s work on podcasts and radio.
Sound mixing - lgbtq&a
Cal spent two months sound mixing for LGBTQ&A: an interview podcast documenting the stories of the LGBTQ community — all races, genders, sexualities, & everyone in-between. The podcast has been featured in The New York Times, USA Today, and Buzzfeed.
Sound mixing - the advocates
Cal also did sound mixing for The Advocate Magazine's podcast, The Advocates. The Advocate’s Tracy E. Gilchrist and Jessie "Gender" Earl, as well as occasional guests, discuss and dissect the top stories in LGBT pop culture, politics, and larger social concerns from their distinct viewpoints.
Writing, producing, hosting - wrfi community radio news
Cal produced a few news packages for WRFI: a community radio station in Ithaca, New York. One of those packages helped tell the story of Kendra Adams: a trans woman of color who was brutally murdered in Ithaca. The piece honors Adams' memory, and discusses the disproportionately high murder rate of trans women of color in America.
